From the Padre
Advent is a season that looks to the coming of Christ our Saviour. We remember His birth in Bethlehem and thus prepare to receive Him anew each time we receive Him in Holy Communion. Like that birth in the cave when He was born in humility and poverty, so He comes to us humbly and poor in the Blessed Eucharist. As well we look forward to His return, both at the end of our lives and at the end of the world. When we breathe our last, we hope to meet Him in mercy and love. When He comes at the end of the world, He will raise our mortal bodies and bring us glorified into His Eternal Kingdom. Advent is a season of prayer and genuine hope. It’s especially a reminder that our life is meant for God’s Eternal Kingdom and that we need to do all that we can to love and serve our Saviour during this pilgrimage of life.
